A great Native meeting came off to-day, on the imatltfin of the Gisborne Europeans, 1600 Maoris have naßembleiV, and wre being ente nalue-i for three days, A camp has been formed close to the town, where the Natives are under canvas. The Ngatlaporon Natives are down 600 strong, also Natives from Watopu, Tologa, Tokomaru, Walroa, and otbe? plaoes. To-day has been passed m athletlo sports and feaatinga-— hundreds of Europeans being present. £200 was subscribed by the Europeans to defray expenses. To-iilght j there was a grand display of fireworks, followed by a bonfire and grand war dance by 80 Ngatiporous. To-morrow a grand korero will be held when matters of Native tatereiit will be dficujsed. One Experience of Many.
