ODDFELLOWSHIP.
A wall-attended meeting of Oddfellows was held last night m tbe Oddfellows' Hall for the purposes of electing < ffioera for tbe newly-f^iii.ed Ashburton dißtriot, the following being thj reault of the election :--Prov.G.M M Bro O. Held ; " D.P.G.M., Bro G. F. Scott ; Prov.O.R., 800 11. Minuifl ; Trustees, Bros J. Corbet t * and J, Btept.ene ; Auditor, Bros J, I Pearson, I. Reid and J. A. Clothier. The \ installing officers from the .North Cantor- i bnry District were.— Prov.©,M. Bro Manks; D.JP.G.M. Bro Guntrip; Prov.O.H. Bro Foster. The delegates from Lodges m the new district were — Ashburcon, B-os Keid, Uorbett, and Minnie ; K>kaia, Bro Osborne; Tinwald, Bro Williams; Springburn, Bro Oooper ; Waterton, Bro Soal. la addition to thoie mentioned, several pafct officers were present. The first officers of the new diatriot returned thanks for their election, promising m appropriate speeches, to do their best for Oddfellow ship and for the advancement of the game m their own district especially. It was decided to hold the next half-yearly meetiug, fixed for Septemoer, at Springnurr, whoa the auuiversary of the 1 a,k\ lod^e will alt*o be celebrated.
