ASHBURTON WOOLLEN FACTORY
An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders m the Ashburton Woollen Manufacturing Company was held at the Arcade Chuncbera yesterday afternoon. There vrere about fifteen shareholder* present. The Chairman of Directors, Mr G. H. Greenwood, occupied the chair The meeting hud been called to confirm or otherwise the following resolution passed at a meeting of the Company held on March 3rd : —
" That the Articles of Association be altered m manner following : — (1) Jn Article 53 the word " seven " shHll be substituted for the word "five." (2) In the third line of. Article 64, the word " three " shall be substituted for the word "two." (3) 'I ho following Article shall bo inserted after Article 64, namely, — 64a For the purpose of giving effect to the alteration made m Article 53, whereby the number of Directors ib increased from five to seven, two Directors shall be elected at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company at which the resolution altering Article 53 shall be confirmed, and the Directors elected at such meeting shall hold office for the siime term as they would have done if they had been Directors duly elected at the laßt preceding Ordinary Annual Meeting of the Company.' The Chairman proposed the confirmation of tho resolution This was seconded by Mr 11. l<"riedlander and carried. The election of two Directors m the terms of tho foregoing resolution was the next business. Messrs John Orr and D. H. Brown being the only gentlemen nominated were dnlj eleced The meeung then adjourned.
