COLONIAL DEFENCE.
London. March 29
In the House of Lords last night Lord Onslow, Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, stated that he hoped the new rules regarding the employment of pensioned officers of the British Army would give the colonial defence forces the advantage of the services of tried officers. Her Majesty's Government were anxious to assist the colonies m organising their own defences.
