A SAD MISADVENTURE.
A shocking misadventure occurred near Geelong on the 15th last, by which a farmer and road contractor named Stephen Taauer killed hia son six years of age As Tanner was about to go to woik on a road contract his wife aaked him to take away a cat which annoyed her. He attetnptid to do so, but the animal escaped on to the roof of a stable. To dlalodge it Tanner threw half a brick at it, and th s struck his son, who unknown to him had cllnib-d the roof of a pig-stye behind tbo stable. A shrink by Mra Tanner caused her husband to run round the building o ascertain the cause, when he saw her lifting the lifele3B body of his son off the ropf of the stye.' At thn it qaeet tbe jury returned % verdict of " Acci ionfal death." The parents of the lad were m a distressing condition at the misfortune which had occurred.
