ACCIDENT TO THE S.S. ROME.

The P. and O. s.s. Rome, bound fur Australia, ran ashore at Port Said during a gale on Wednesday last, and sustained injuiies to her rudder and rudder-post, which necessitated her return to Malta to be docked. The passengers and mails were transferred to the s.s. Mirzapore, which left here this morning for Colombo, to which port the Surat will be despatched from Bombay to carry on the passengers and mails to the Australian colonies. The Rome's passengers and mails will thus arrive at Australia on the date when due. The Sutlej will be despatched from London to convey the Rome's cargo from Port Said to Australia.
