A first offonder was fined 10s and costs for drunkenness. BREACH OF LICENSING ACT. E Mead was charged with supplying beer to one Street who was under a prohibition order. The offence wan admitted, but defendant thought the beer vrae for another person or lie would not have got it. — 'I to Mugistrato made some strong remarks about the difficulty of getting a conviction, and said that ho had warned tho publicans that he would inflict a severe penalty the first chance ho got. Wilding for plainUffa, Mr Purnoll for defendant. — The psrtioß to the action are farmers residing at Pendarves, and hay ing adjoining properties. The plaintiffs alleged, that sheep belonging to the defendant had broken through the fence dividing the t*o properties and trespassed on a 130 acre paddock of oats m stook. It . was alleged that the sheep had greatly demsgod the oats, and the plaintiff claimed to recover the sum of £50 the amount of damages whioh they averred they bai sustained. The defendant had paid the sum of £10 and £3 63 into Court. — A large number of witnesses for each side were called and their examination occupied considerable time. — Counsel addressed the Court, re* viewing the — The.
