TORY REQUIREMENTS.
An influential deputation, consisting of ioo l >Tory members, waited on Mr Goschen, asking him, m view of the depression m farming interests, to make provision m the forthcoming Budget for granting relief to those following agricultural pursuits. In reply Mr Goschen said it was his opinion that the time had arrived when it was desirable to review the incidence of taxation generally throughout the United Kingdom, not with the object of remitting any of the taxes, but with a view of bringing about redistribution, so that personal property should be made to contribute more than at present, and he considers there should also be a change made m local taxation.
