LotfDOH, Maroh 22 Consols have advanced to 102. The market rate of discount has declined to 2 per cent, and is now 1% below the bank rate. New Zealand inscribed stock remains at 98. Ccolonial breadstuff's and tallow are unchanged. The second of the year's series of colonial wool auctions opened to-day before a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 1 0,000 bales, for which bidding is proceeding with fair spirit, but without quotable change of prices compared with tjie closing rates of the January and February auctions. The prices for greasy merino were barely maintained, while last sales 1 closing rates were firmly maintained for crossbreds. The total quantity to be offered during the present series which close on the 27th April are limited by the Importers Committee to 275,000 bales.
Wheat — Market continues drooping. Adelaide wheat (new) is worth 36s 6d ; Victorian wheat, to 37a ; New Zealand average, 35s ad, and New Zealand long berried, 36s 6d per 4961 b. Victorian wheat, to arrive, per iron ship, is worth, elf., 35s per 4801 b, March bill of lading.
