STARVING SETTLERS.
A STRANGE REPORT. Auckland, March 23. Mr Hobbs, M.H.R., telegraphs to tho Auckland papers that the special settlers at Herekino are dissatisfied with the Government not fulfilling their promises. Some are m want of food, and have not tasted meat for a week, and many will certainly starve if immediate relief be noc forthcoming, Mr Hobbs vouches for the truth of the statements, and says the position cannot be exaggerated^.
