ILLICIT DISTILLATION AT TIMARU
[By Telegram*.] TlMutu, March 14 The distillation case, Customs y Matthe.vrn and Bills, ja now proceeding. The possession of the etill h*ad m the loft of the house, of the atill itsolf m the stable, and the presence of tools, casks, whisky, eto , at a epot some half mile from the house and connected with it by a dray tr»ck, were all proved. Inspector Brohamwas cross-examine i unsuccessfully for Ihe porpose of showing that the still produced was not well enough made to be usd for the purposes of distilling. The* Magistrate overruled the oljeotion as trivial. The case is prooeodbg. the Court being well filled.
