The Wellington correspondent of the «' Auckland Herald " writes : — I hava heard it stated that m the next session of Parliament the policy of the Opposition will be a policy of observation — whatever that may mean. This may account for some of the criticisms of Mr Bryoe's recent deliverance, which is described as somewhat barren by several Opposition journals. "The course of true love never does run smooth, " musos the " Wairarapa Observer." The truth of this adage was verified the other day when a young couple were disappointed m having the knot tied through the swain neglecting to provide the marriage certificate, AH the invited gueßtß were present, and everything was going as merry as a marriage bell, when on the arrival of the olergyrnan he asked for the certificate. Judge the astonishment of tho guests, and the reproachful glances of the bride, and the bewildered expression of the bridegroom, when he faltered out that be had not got it. Of course the oeremony could not be procoeded with, and to throw a little life into the mournful oirole it was decided that, although the wedding had to be put off until the next day, there would be no harm m eating the break•a^t prepared, which suggestion was acted upon, and a most agreeable day was spent, the ceremony taking place the next day. There is a paper published m Chicago oalled " The Hog." It is said that it fairly bristles with good things, and is plentifully interlarded with numor. In addition to the usual supply of solid meat there is a corner for tender lines, and each number has a short tale. It must be an offal nice paper, No. body ever sausage a one before. If it has no motto, a good one would be, " In hog, signo s vinces." ? He pays seeing tho said Extract advertised m the " Illawarra Mercury," his intense suffering induced him to obtain a bottle of the medicine from Mr Hosking, chemist, of this town, and that the use of it gave him great relief at once. He says that between the 10th March instant, when he obtained the first bottle of the extraot and on the 19th, the use of that medicine continued to afford him relief, to which he had been a stranger for four years. Mr Loveday writes also that he has found theEuoalypti Extraot a cure for rheumatism as well as gravel. He requests us to publish this information through the " Mercury."
