HORSE MARKET

Mr T. Bullock reports for the week ending Saturday, March sth :— Twentyeeven horses were brought forward for tbe day's sale. Although there was about an average attendance of farmers and other country settlers, biddings were extremely langnid, and only a small proportion of those entered were sold. Purchasers appear to operate with extreme caution, and only purchase horaes that can be guaranteed pood, and a large proportion of those brought forward just now are not of the stump required, hence the dull sales. Medium draughts of a light stamp brought £10 to £15; aged, £4, £4 10s; light harness horses, £7 to £9 ; hacks, £4, £5 5s with little demand.
