Nelson, March 5. The Hon Major Richmond, 0 B , died this morning In his 86th year, after a long and lingering illness. He was the oldest member of the Legislative CouncP, and took a prominent part m tbe administration of Government m the Cook's Straits settlements after the Wairau massacre. He resided m Nelsou over 40 years, and was Supe intendent prior to the abolitirn of the provinces. Shipping. Oamartj, Mirch 5.
