The definition of a district horae shall be all horses that have been commonly resident m the country lying botween the south bank of the Selwyn and the north bank of the Waitaki from December 31, 1886, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a peraon who has resided m the district above defined during the same period. General Rules of the Ashburton TraJesmen'a Bacine; Club and Racing Rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the grosß of all monois payable m accordance with this programme for expenses of theooune; All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the laoing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, their decision m all points connected with the carrying out o this programme to be final ; and entries will only be received subject to these conditions. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of tho Club. All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name j»nd age of the horse, and colors of the iider and m the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Whittle's Hotel, not later than 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the Bth day February. 1887.
