MR MACANDREW'S FUNERAL
Dunedih, February 28. The funeral of Mr James Macandrew ' took place this afternoon, the body being k interred m the family burying ground, 1 about half a mile from his late resldenoa ; In Macandrew Bay. About 1500 persons , were conveyed by steamer frcm Danedln, c and at Port Chalmers all the business 5 places were oloßed. Sir B. Stout and * Mr Buckley represented the Government, * and the Hon. Mr Fortescue the Governor. Five members of the Legislative Ooonoll and fifteen members of the House of ' Representatives, inoludln? Sir M. O'Rorke, 1 Speaker, were present, two being from 1 the North Island and one from the West Coast. The service m the .house was oonduoted by the Jttev. Mr Gregg; This 1 over, the coffin was borne by the Mayor 1 and Councillors of Fort Chalmers to the 1 private cemetery, the procession which followed being truly representative. Dr Stuart officiated at the grave, which was 1 alongside the spot where Mrs Maoandrew was buried some years ago.
