The definition of a district horse shall be all iorecß that hayo been commonly resident m. the country lying between the south bank of the Selwyn and the north bank of the Waitaki from December 31, 1886, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeliag, and owned by a person who has resided m the district abov* dofined during the same period. Geueral Ruled of the Ashburton TraJesmenV Bacin<? Club and Racing Rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross cf all monejs payable m accordance with this programme for expenses of the course: All disputes, claimß, an 3 objections arising out of the lacing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, their decision m all points connected with the carrying out o thia programme to be final ; and entriea will only be received subject to these conditions.
