HORSE MARKET.
Earing the month very little business lias': been done m the horse market on account of farmers being engaged m bayveat operations. On Saturday 13 were brought forward for the day's sale, and for the few medium draughts suitable for farm work offered, biddings were fairly spirited, and there were several intending purchasers who could not be supplied. The whole of the day's entry, 13, were sold excepting 3 at the following prices, viz. : — Medium draughts of a light stamp £18, £13, £13 100, and for a three-year-old of a better stamp £22 10s. Light harness horses and aged draught £5, £8, £8 15s ; hacks £3 to £8 ; dray brought £8 15s Harness, &c\, at market rates. Previous to the usual horse sale I offered by auction srrao town and suburban properties, and although the biddings were slow two were ecld out of the three offered, viz : Lots 11, 12, 13, Alford Forept Boad, with house thereon, for £187 10s. Lot 27, containing £-acre, known as part of Mrs McLean's block, fronting Princes street, Netherby, £15 10s, and privately during the week I sold about 5£ acres fronting Middle Road, AHenton, with brick-kiln thereon and 'known as gears' b4sJsjar,fy for the gara of £255.
