CHEAP SILAGE.

Last June (lays a correspondent of aa English paper), having an over-oaten first crop of clover and rye grass that was thin I determined to try an experiment, On a Monday I began by a mowing machine, and cut the lot, and carried four loads and stacked it, to the surprise of all the neighborhood. " What a fool," they said, "it will either fire or rot." On Tuesday it was wet, on Wednesday fine, which dried the grass. I carried four loads. Thursday wet. Friday I finished carrying three loads after drying. In the end the first four loads were splendid dark groen and sweet ; anything would eat it. Pigs eat and liked it much. Second lot good, darker, In. color; third lot not so good as second, darker, but good, and the stock eat it readily, but not so greedily as the first day's get. Now for the process.
