Tho Canterbury team played up well, the last four wickets adding 8G to yesterday's total of 132 for six wickets. Rayner played freely for 49, and laid on the wood m fine style Five were ran for one of his hits. Garrard played steadily for 24, Fowke mado 11, and Garty who made 10, was the eighth man to get into donbie figures. The Otago fielding was not as good as that of the local men. The ninth and tenth men on the Otago list made a good Btand, and saved the inning's defeat' Oa'son made 36, Hope 24 Kingsland made a good impression on the local men with his score of 18 Walls alogged up 20. Canterbury, wanting Un to win, mado 11 for the Iras of no wickets. Dunlop got 9, and Cuff 2. Since the matches have been instituted, Canterbury has won 15 and Otago 9.
