The definition of a district horse shall be all horßes that have been- commonly resident m the country lying between the south bank of the Selwyn and the north bank of the Waitaki from December 31, 1886, and up to the date of. the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided m the district above defined dnring the same period. General Rules of the Ashburton Tradesmen's Bacin<r Club and Pacing Rules of the Canterbury Jockey Clnb strictly adhered to. . ■• . Five per cent, will ba deducted from the gross cf all moneys payable m accordance with this programme for expenses of theconne: All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the lacing shall be decided by the Stewards; or whom they may appoint, their decision ia all points connected with the carrying out o this programme to be final ; and entries will only be received subject to' these conditions.
