otago v. Canterbury.

The twenty-fifth match -between Canterbury and Otago took place today, at Lancaster Park. The ground was m good order, but would have been better for a shower of rain. The weather was superb, and the light very good. Hardly the usual amount of interest was shown m the affair. The attendance at moat was 250. The Otago captain won the toes, and decided to go In first. At 3.30 all the Otago men were disposed of for 80. After half an hour's spell Canterbury went to the wickets, and almoßt at once commenced scoring rapidly. At 6p m. they left off with six wlokats down for 132. Otaso. — Ist Innings.
