AN EXPLANATION,
London. February 17 In the House of Commons to-day Earl Dunriven made a statement m reference to his resignation. He explained the reason as being that he insisted on economy m the public expenditure, and had objected to coercion m Ireland. The remedy for the evils m that country he considered would be an extensive measure for securing local autonomy on a representative basis.
