Mobs, not later than 9 p tn. on Saturday, 26th inst For some reason, not yet explained, the weights were published in.Christchurch a day before tbe advertised time, the result being, of coarse, that the Guardian had to play second fiddle to outside contemporaries. The handicap should have been sent to us yesterday either by the Club itself or the agent of the Press Associa-' tin. The last named person hap apparently thought fit to take an unfnir advantage of his position for the benefit of his own particular sheet. It may be added that we applied to tbe Secretary for a copy of the weights, and were surprised to learn that h had not yet received them . It ib, to Bay the least of it, irregular that the handicap should have been published before the advertised date and before receipt by the Club '■( itself.]
