Wheat. — Good samples of Tu«can and Hunter's have been placed during the week at 3s 4d, 3s sd, and up to 3s 6d for extra prime, but to-day the market is rather weak, buyers being uowi'ling 10 exceed the former price of 3s 4d for picked large parcels, Samples a little underprime can be bought at from Id to 2d under above quotations. Chicken wheat is not offeriog plentifully, and freely commands 2s 9d t* 2s lOd. Oats — Large quantities have been cleared during the week for Australia, and prices have closed firm at Is 8d to Is Od for good short feed, while long and inferior feed find local consumption at Is 6d to Is 7d. Milling are scarce, and would command Is lid for bright, clean, heavy parcels. Barlejr.— -The few samples exhibited are of fair malting quality, and buyers are willing to give 2a lOd to 3s, bat growers are holding aloof for better prices. Yields are estimated light with a good deal of feed grain. Beans are. being held back for better prices. Peas. — Prussian Bines hare been sold at 3s 3d and 3s 6d for clean samples true to name. Rvo Grass.— Sales on the basis of last week's quotations continue to be effected Maohine dressed is being quoted at 3s 6d to 48 Cocksfoot has not yet reached the market m quantities Potatoes. — Kidneys are being offered at £3 at country stations. Dairy Produce.— Butter has been slightly better at 6id to 6£d for prime butter m tubs. Cheese ahowß no improvement on last week's prices. The, above prices are thoße paid to farmer*, and delivered f o.b. Lyttelton.
