Consols, 100^8. New Zealand securities at last quotations. Five per cent 10-40 Loan, 102 ; inscribed stock, 95. Adelaide wheat ex store unchanged at 37s 6d; New Zealand, 33s 6d to 37s 6d, according to quality. Adelaide flour remains at 26s 6d. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,970,000 quarters, 50,000 less than last week. Australian tallow :-— Beef average quality, 35s 6d ; mutton, 30s. New Zealand frozen mutton, prime quality, iB realising 4#d. |bj?eoial to press absooutioh.J London, February 12The wheat market is quiet, and quotations are nominally unchanged. Prices for Continental and American shipments are easier. No Colonial arrivals are reported. One Australian cargo has been sold for 37s 6d for prompt shipment. Sellers are asking 375. The wool market is irregular, and the recent advance has been partially lost. Only the best classes of combing merinos and crossbreds maintain the highest rates. 302,000 bales have been catalogued, of which 18,000 were withdrawn. London, February 13. The Albert medal has been conferred on William Goldwin, of Queensland, for gallantry. The Standard states that only borrowing will maintain the solvency of Queensland. The Mollahs are inciting a general rising against the Ameer of Afghanistan. The meat by the Lusitania is realising 4#d for best qualities ; and that by the Tongariro j4d higher. The forts of Northern France have received further war armaments. Mr Lewis, Conservative, has been eleted for North Antrim by a majority of 1300. The treaty negotiated between Germany and China secures important contracts to the former country.
