Lowdok, February 7. A million of the Victorian loan has been paid. A large shipment of Scotch and Rhine salmon ova, and Rhine char, ctrp, and trout, will be forwarded by the Airing?. Sir Arthur Blyth and Sir Saul Samuel are urging a conference of mail companies. A paper on colonial fruits has been read by Mr Monis at the Colonial Institute. In it he stated that Victorian canned fruits are equal to the best Californian, and ought to be more largely exported to England, also that dried figa and Adelaide pears Were greatly valued m the market. A large quantity of apples and grapes vrere grown m Perth, and* the Adelaide seedless currants were equal to the best imported. New Zealand and Victorian apple 6 were also mentioned, as valuable articles to export.
