MAIL MATTERS.
The reply of Mr Raikes to a requert made by the Agent- General, concerning modifying tenders for Australian mail contracts, was imparted to the Agents to-day. The PostmasterGeneral states that the Imperial Conference would serve to elicit the viewe of the colonies m regard to a postal service between England and Australia. In the meantime he should consider whether it would be desirable to make further arrangements until the meeting of the Conference.
