Fit, Sxylb, and Workmanship Gtjahanteed. HUGHO CRAIGHEAD. Ashburton, January Ist, 1887. 12 HUSBAND AND WIFE, The Husband. Dear wife. I am weary of seeing You toil every day for your bread, While I am a poor helpless bsing j •Tis often I wish I were dead. You ne'er were accustomed to toiling, .^ Yonr hands were once white like the snow ; While I watch you work night and morning Yonr movements seem wearied and slow Thh Wifb, Dear husband, give over your worry, My work ee.-ms Jike labor, I ween, But I am r ever compelled, dear, to hurry Now I ÜBe Ferriman'a Washing Machine. It lightens by two-thirds my labors. And makes all my garment's so clean, Thnt our clothes ate the envy of neighbors Who adore Ferriman'a Washing Ma'hine TO THE WIVES~TnD MOTHERS OB ASHBURTON AND THE GENERA! PUBLIO OF NEW ZEALAND. In presenting to the public of Ashbutton the marvellous STE&M WASHER, I believe I am conferring a boon of incalculable worth on every wife and mother m this beautifu' land, an whom that most important function of every household devolves, known (and hitherto dreaded) as washing clothes of every description. By the use of thie Machine, tin's distastef al and slavish work is entirely relieved of i*e drudgery, nnd made a source of pleasurable exercise. The muqual'.ei qualities which it posßeateß of thoroughly bl^ncMnir the clothes giving them an unparalleled whitcntsa, and it? harmles action npon delicate and colored fabrics, ronder it peculiarly useful and popular. The Baying qualities of thd Mach'ne quite m keeping with its other nrnito iouo features. Any person who will give it a practical teat will be cnqncßtionably convinced that from an ECONOMICAL Btndpoint it is unsurpnssfd nnd unequalled. The consumption of fuel iB materially reduced. The saving effected .m this iteTi alone will m me year cqnal the price of the Machine. As it only entails Ibe consumption of two-thirds the amount of soap u*ed m the ordinary way of washing, this item of es nomy is self-evident to every persnn Tha greatest saving, however, is effected m the wear and tear of the clothe?. Every intelligent individual knows that th? ufio of the washboard wears tho various fabrics more than anything else, and lb the marvellous Pi earn Washer rnndera Its use absolutely unnecessary, and thoreby obviates almost o tirel) the necessity for " clothes mending," its saving qualities m this particular will be at onco apparent and appreciated. . But all iti savin-* qualities of a financial chnractor are eclipsed, and dwindle into insignificance, when we take into consideration the frail, delicate, and weskly condition of thousands of wives and mothers who are forced to tar their energies and waste their limited strength injthe old way of washing; bnt who may, by the nse of its magical properties, do tho work without any fatigue to their feeble bodies, and with infinite satisfaction and pleasure to their minds. This, more than any detire or expectation on the part of the inventor to make money out o the article, was the prime object he had m view. From the marveUons results obtained from its use, however, and the unbounded and enthusiastic commendations from everyone having used it since itn introduction to the public, as 1 annexed list of names of persons wh i have ptirchaeed (he machin9 and are willing to testify to its meritß, will fully attest, tho advertiser his deemed ifc wise, m ordsr to place this incomparable article of- household use more prominently before the intelligent people of the district, to pive tho postal address of a few of the buyers, m order that an unprcj adiccd and entirely impartial opinion of itß intrinsic value, may be readily obtained by anyone desirons of getting such information from actual users and purchasers, who will undoubtedly be best calculated to give a jast estimate of its value.
