CORN EXCHANGE.

The following Is the Corn Exohange report for the week ending Friday, 28th ln«t :—

Harvest operations have this year opened under most favorable cirouin Btances, tho weather for the past two months being all that could be desired. The wheat (especially s;.Tinsf) promises to give excellent quality ; the autumn and winter sown will not be so regular, the heavy winter rains m many cases having had damaging effects Oats are not a very heavy crop, but the acreage will be considerable, and the samples as far as shown aro fully up to the average of the past Barley will be light and very irregular, both as regards yield and quality. Kyegrass is very foul with weeds of al. 1 kind*, hence to a great extent the low prices that are at present ruling. Cocksfoot has been well harvested, and the seed will be heavy, but will take a lot of careful cleaning. London cables are more assuring than they were a week ago, but it is still too early to estimate the opening rates for wheat.

Wheat has but little business, millers being well mpplied. We quoto prime mi'ling nominally at 4s 3d to 4s 5d j Becond qu Hty, 3* lOd to 4s ; and chickwheat, 3s 6d to 3s Bd.

Oats — Considerable quantities have been taken up for shipment, and the market for old short feed is bare at Is lOd to Is lid. New parcels are on offer at Is 91 to Is lOd, but buyers want them for less money. Long descriptions are very quiet at ]s 7d to Is Bd, Barley has had a better roue, and for malting up to 3a has been paid ; feed has been quiet at 2s 2d to 2s 4 r l. Grass Seeds — No nlteration has taken place m values, the quality baing m general inferior Sales have taken place at 2s 3d, 2a 6d, 2s 9J, and up to 33; welldressed Hues Machine droflsed seed is not yet quoted . Cocksfoot J^as Dot boon solh to any extent, and prices me scarcely arranged as between buyer and seller.

Dairy produce has no alterations, and quota'ions are the same as last weak.
