Fit, Style, and Wobkmakship Guaranteed. HUGHO. CRAIGHEAD. Ashburton, January Ist, 1887. 12 HUSBAND AND WIFE. The Husband. Dear wife, I am weary of seeing You toil every day for your bread, While I am a poor helpless being; •Tis often I wish I weio dead. You ne'er were accustomed to toiling, Your hands were once white like the snow: While I watch you work night and morning Yonr movements seem wearied and slo w, Thi Wifk< Dear husband, give over your worry, My work seems like labor, I ween, But I am never compelled, dear, to hurry Now I use Ferriman's Washing Machine. It lightens by two-thirds my labors. And mates all my garments so clean, That our clot bes are tho envy of neighbors Who adore Ferriman's Washing Machine TO TBB WIVESTND MOTHERS OF ASHBURTON AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF NEW ZEALAND. In presenting to the public of Ashbutton the marvellous STEAM WASHER, I believe I am confer'ing a boon of incalculable worth on every wife and mother in this beautifu 1 land, an whom that meet important function of every household devolves, known land hitherto dreaded) as washing clothes of every de- j scription. By the nee of this Machine, this distastefal and slavish work is entirely relieved of ir-s drudgery, and made a source of pleasurable exercise. The uncqualloi qualities which it possesses of thoroughly blrncbing the clothes gi ring them an unparalleled whiteness, and its harmlotß action upon delicate and colored fabrics, render it peculiarly nscful and popular. The saving qualities of the Machine quite in keeping with its other nipritoiious features. Any person who will give it a prac- , tical test will be unqueßtionably convinced >• that from an ECONOMICAL standpoint it is uoeurpassed and unequalled. Tho consumption of fuel is materially reduced. The saving effected in this item alone will in one year equal the price of the Machine. As it only entails ibe consumption of two-thirds the amonnt of soap u*ed in the ordinary way of '* washing, this item of economy is self-evident to every person. The greatest saving, however, is effected in the wear and tear ;of the 8 clothes. Every intelligent individual knows a that tin use of the washboard wears ths vdriouß fabrics more than anything else, and y vb the mar velloua PteAm Washer renders its use absolutely nnneceseary, and thereby obl- viateß almost entirel} the necessity for h " clothes mending," its saving qualities in thi? 0 particular will be at once apparent and appreciated. ~ But all itn saving qualities of a financial n character are eclipsed, and dwindle into Insig--8 ni finance, when we take into consideration tho ~ trail, delicate, and weakly condition of thousands of wives and mothers who are forced to tax their energies and waste their limited strength in Jth9 old way of washing ; but who may, by the use of its magical pro* perticß, do the work without any fatipno to their feeble bodies, and with infinite satisfaction and pleasure to their minds. This, more e than any deare or expectation on the part P of the inventor to make money out o the e article, was the prime object he had in view. From the marvellous results obtained from its '" use, hewever, and tho unbounded and enthusiO astic commendations from everyone having I, nsed it since its introduction to the |public, as ) 1 annexed list of names of persons wh-> have i{ purchased the machine and are willing to testify to its meiita, will folly attest, the '" advertiser has deemed it wise, in order to place this incomparable article of household use more prominently before the intelligent people of the district, to give tho postal address of a few of the buyers, in order that an unprejudiced and entirely impartial opinion of its intrinsic n value, may be readily obtained by an j one desirous of getting such information from actual users and purchasers, who will un--3 doubtedly be best calculated to give a just estimate of its value.
