«.. Wellington, January 22. It is glorious weather for the anniversary holiday, aunny with a gentle brefze. An absence of wind will probably interfere with the yacht races. Only three boatn started m the raoe for second and third-class yaohts. In the first class, a handicap race for the Challenge Cup and £35, five yachts entered, viz., Batkln's leoa. Raw son's Girolla, Mills Zariff*, Oabbel's Florence and Chapman Thetis. A splendid start waa effected. On the reach to the island the Isoa had becured a oonaiderable lead.
