Cattle. — The supply was only moderate, bat included some veiy nice quality, etpecUUv those from Mr A. M. Clark, Riveralea. There was a farther drop m priaei, and good steers and heifers of medium weights, suitable for the season, ■old at £5 to £6, heavier up to £7, and lighter and cows from £'3"10f upwards, theie prioes being equivalent to 18s per 1001 b for prime beef, and 15a to 16s for secondary. There was n small entry of itore cattle, and the d- mand was very ■lack. A live of Mr John Grig^'s oros«---bred wethers sold nt 8j 9d, the ewe* fetching 6« 6d, but the market was topped by a few Siuthdovrn we' hers ni 9< 6d. Wo qaote fir«tolßßs cross-bred wnthora at 7* , 6-1 to 8' 9! 4 lighter from 6s 6d, eqnal to folly J J-l per Ib. Croßß-V;rad ewes from s 6d to 6s 6d, or from $d to not quite Id per lb — the latter figure being qni'e exceptional. Merino withers sold much better than last week the prirnn Balmoral draft bringinp 5) to 5s 4d (equal to Id pec Id), against 3s lOd last week, and othir lines at about 4b, showing a rise of Is to la 6d. Prices throughout the sale were Tery irregular. Fat lambs were In larcn •apply, *nd tha bent b >ld at an advance on last week s va!u - mostly for freezing. Good linea rea'iae^ 5« 6 to 6> Gd and ■uperior lots ap to 7s 01 ; but a large pro. portion were not In kilting condition, and were cleared with difficulty at 2s to 3s each. Very few store nheap were offered, »nd there waa ntill very litfce demand. Lines of 2-tooth mlx»d oross-brada sold at 3s SI, 3s 4d, and 4c 3d j 2 and 4-tooth oross-bred owns, 8* 6d ; aud 2 and 4-tooth half- bred ewes. 3« (id.
