Aahburtou, January let, 1887 12 ; HUSBAND AND WIFE/ P — Thb Hubbawd. 8 Dea' .wife, I am weary of seeing Y-m toil every day for your bread, > \f hile I am a poor helpless being ; •Tia often I wish I weie dead. \ You ne'er were accustomed to toiling, * Your hands were once white like iho anowj While I watch you work night and V morning \ Your movements seem wearied and Blow . c The Wifh. Dear husband, give over your worry, ,£ My w^rk Be' ma liie labor, I ween, . But lam rever compelled, dear, to hurry Now I use Ferriman's Washing Machine. It lightens by two-thirds my labors, And makea all my garments so clean, That ouro?othea are the envy of neighbors d Who adore Ferriman's Washing Machine, nnO THE WIVES AND MOTHERS OF r. X ASHBURTON AND THB GENERAL tTJBiiIO OF NEW ZEALAND. « In presenting to tbe public of Ashbmton \ the ma'vellous BTE AM WASHER, I believe I am confer Ing a boon of incalculable worth on - every wife and mother m this beautifa' laud, d an whom that most important function of d every household devolves, known (and hitherto c dreaded) as washing clothes of every de* scription. '" By the use of this Machine, this distasteful » r and slavish work ia entirely relieved of tta I drudgery, and made a source of pleasurable i, exercisu. The unequalled qualities which it , possesses of thoroughly blr iichi-ig the clothes \ giving them an unpar^llel-d whiteness, and it? hamlet b action upon delicate and colored fabric*, render it peculiarly useful and popular. the saving qualities of the Machine quite m keeping with its other meritorious features. Any person who will give it a practical tcot will be unquestionably convinced , that from an ECONOMICAL Bt ndpoint it ia *• uDsurpassfd and unequalled. The consumption of fuel is materially reduced. The saving effected m this ite-u alone will m one year _ equal the price of the Machine. As it only entaila tbe consumption of two-thirds the amount of aoap u«ed m tlie ordirary way of washing, this item of ec corny is self-evident [ * to every person The greatest savins:, how. ever, is effected m the wear and tear of the I*) clothes. Every intelligent individual knows that th^ ÜBe of tbe washboard wears tb.9 various fabrics more than anything else, and bb the marvellous P te*m Washer renders its us* absolutely unnecessary, and thereby obviates almost e^'tirel} the necessity for " clothea mending," its saving qualities m thi< particular will be at once apparent and appreciated, Bnt all its savinT' qualities of a financial character are eclipsed, and dwindle into insignificance, when we take into consideration the trail, delicate, and weakly condition of "thousands of wives and mothers who are forced to tax their energies and waste their r limited strength m {the old w*y of washing ; I but who may, by the use of its magic*! properties, do the work without any fatipue to their feeble bodies, and with infinite satisfaction and pleasure to their miuda, This, more than any desire or expectation on the part 1 of the invntor to make money out o the article, was the prime object he had m view. From the marvellous results obtained from its ÜBe. however, and the unbounded and enthusiastic commendations from eVeryone having used it since its introduction to the public, as 1 eannexed list of names of persons who have purchased the machine and are willing to testify to its merits, will fully attest, the advertiser has deemed it wise, m ord^r to place thia incomparable article of household use more prominently before the intelligent people of the district, to pive the postal address of a few of the buyers, m order that an unprejudiced and entirely impartial opinion of its intrinsic value, may be readily obtained by anyone desirous of getting finch information from 'Ustual users and purchasers, who will un- ' 9 doubtedly be beßt calculated to give a juat J » estimate of ita value. t Mrs Herbert, Beheld! 1 Mr M.
