The Auckland Herald writes •— " We understand that MUs Maribel Greenwood, who has shown hereelf to be possessed of excellent hlstrlooio ability for one of her years, intends to adopt the stage as a profession, and will shortly m»ke her debut as a tragedienae under peculiarly favorable circumstances. Miss Pomeroy, the well-known actress, when last m Auckland, was much impressed with the great pro.niae shown by Miss Greenwood, whone performance as Juliet at the Opera House excited so muoh favorable cpmmenf, and has now offered to return to Npw {3e.&land with a powerful dramatic company for the purpose ftf supporting the young tragedienne, who is brilliantly educated, and an accomplished musician and linguist. Miss Greenwood adds to her intuitive hintrionio faculty thoae personal qualifications bo essential m an aotrese, and jadplng from the success which Bho has already achieved m her public performance as pianist, reciter, and actreas, we have no hesitation m predict? ing for her a brilliant career on the dramut c stage. The young lady m queatlon has written a novel which will shortly be published. Her sister, Ruby, a clever little f.'irl of nine years, is also to make her debut m literature, ha ring written a very pretJy story for children.
