THE MIDLAND RAILWAY.

The contractor for the retaining walla near the tnonel (Mr Watjon), has over 30 men employed, and the contractors for oonrtrack "No 2 (Mesara Omftlly and Ooohrane) hive now made considerable progress on the heavy bank at Dick's Fiat, between 50 and 60 hands being engaged thereon, Inoludlng Bereral bushmen, who are clearing the traok. The road at this point will be taken under the railway by means of a timber bridge of one span of 18ft and four spans of 13ft ; and an Iron girder bridge of two spans of 60ft supported by an Iron oylinder will carry the railway across the Still water Ovaek. The contractors, It Is understood, are erecting a capacious shed for a store for railway materials at the junotlon rf the Reef ton and Ohrlstchuroh : railway.
