INFANTICIDE IN MILWAUKEE.
The finding of a dead infant m Milwaukee with a darning needle passed through its heart has led to the disclosure that it regu'ar business of putting babes to death, at so mash per head, haa been carried on m that city. Mrs Paulina Mittelataedt, proprietress of a private laylng-ia hoaae, fled a few weeks ago upon ascertaining that the authorities had accumulated evidence criminating her. She travelled under an assumed name la Michigan, but was overhauled at Reed Oity and brought back. She confessed the murder, and clairoß to have been promised £60 by its mother by putting it out of the way. The authorities are Investigating the deaths of numerona other infants born out of wedlock, and supposed to have been put to death by her.
