The Adding on market yesterday waa very thinly atteodod, most of the batoheis having bought heavily last week, and tra^e waß very dull. Cattle, — The supply was well within usual requirements, but beyond the limited demand of tho d*y. The quality was very middling, and prices we va weaker to the extent of 10a a head compared with laet week. Prime heifo.-B and a few steers sold from £6 to £7 10a, eqaal to I%b to 20s per 1001 b; but Eecondary quality was only saleable at tbs rat<) of lfis to 17s, and oows and inferior wen ever lower thin that. Store oattle we© almost unsaleable, and most of the larger lines returned to their (senders unsold. A few good twc-year-old heifera nold at £3 to £3 7a 6d, and three-year-.W at £4 17a 6d ; bat fn younger ages the only sales were of yearl'mzs at 233 to 26 1. Dairy cowa were a very poor lot. Two or three good springers Bold ffom £5 to £6, and there are fair enquiries for this clisa. Old cows sold from 30s to £3 10s to graziers. Sheep. — The ya?ds waa completely filled, and animation on the part of buyers being entirely absent, prices suffered a fall of Is to Is 6d a head from the already low values of last week. The quality was generally pood, and m many lußtanctß superior. Mr John Holmes, Meßera Upton and Russell, Mrs Holmes, Bangor, the Lowcliffe Estate, Mr Donald M'Lean, Falrlie Creek, and Mr F. Overton, sent m oroasbred wethers of the superior qoality, and these consignments were mostly bought for export;, at 7a 6d to 83 6d a he-'l, or ljd per lb. Tho Balmoral merino wethers, which were as good a draft aa has been sent forward i<n tome time, were also eoH for frefzin<r, and the prico, 3< lOd, eqnal to barely |d per lb, ie an index to the Btate of the market. Fair merino wethers wore unftold at the low offer of Is each. Light and medium- weight crossbred wethers bronchi from 5» 6d to 7s, prime crossbred ewo?, 5a to 5s 0d ; light, from p^ ; and rnediam weights, is to 43 6d, bdng at (ha rut 1 * of per lb. Inferior lines were only f saleable at the worth of the skin and fat Farmers, however, are beginning to fi'ul themselves overstocked, and matt clean out their old sheep to xn«tke room and food for the young. In store sheep th* transactions were few and unimportant. Not many desirable lines were offored, and tho demand was simply nil. A very large number of lambs were penned, and prices gave way nearly Is a head. Only an exceptional line or t«ro sold as high as 6 1 to 7s, the currant fata for good pens being 4s 6d to 6s 63, while those m sfcor* oondiMon wore quitted with diffloally n 2s to 3s 6d.
