A destructive bush fire is reported to have been raging m Te Punui buah for nearly a week past, Tt commenced m the Mangawa foreßt and is travelling In a westerly dlrcoiion, a large quantity of valuable standing timber being burned, and buah men have had to leave their wharea and take to the open. \ number of bush contractors have met with serious loss from the ore. It is stated that many valuable working bullocks have been destroyed m the fhraes.
