Ho ohnrged her with obtaiuiog £i 2s 6d from Fathar Obastagnon's housekeeper by means of ftriudnlent representations. She admitted having done bo. She seemed m a muddled Btatefrbmdrink— Oatherlt c Oopgrave, housekeeper for the Rev Father Ohaßtagnon, said that the scouaed osm* to her on the previous morning, and m co»---aeqaence of representing that she was housekeeper to the Bey Father Ooleman, of Oamaru, witness gave her £1 2a 6d — Sergeant Felton said that the accused, when brought to the lock np, was under the Influence of Jhuor. She gave two names;— ln reply to the Bench, Sergeant Felton Baid that the polioa knew nothing of the previous ohareotar of the tuoiued. —The accased made a brief ttateui; nt, which wa3 inaudible at the reportera' table. The aooused was ordered to be Bent to prison for fourteen days.
