SMALLPOX.

Adelaide, January 3. Another case of smallpox is reported at the quarantine ground. Sydney, J*nnary 3, The Board of Health reports lhat of the Preussen's passengers m quarantine here there are forty pronounced cases Of smallpox, two being of a dangerous character; also, 38 suspected cases. One of the engineers of the Preussen is baiieved to have escaped when the vessel was at Melbourne. Melbourne, January 3 The smallpox at the quarantine is increasing. Altogether there are 19 cases among the steerage passengers ; Jhe other classes are frc, rigid isolation being enforced. Much disquiet has been occasioned owing to the disappearance of one of the engineers of the Pruessen, who escaped when the vessel reached Melbourne, and since |;as not been traced.
