The terms of the will of Mrs Stewart, tho widow of M. A. T. irt, the well-ktii-wn New York dry-.,00di merchai t, has been published. Af>or making generous bequests to her brother and sisters, their children and grandchildren, she makes her In -sband’s partne-, Mr Hilton, who received one million under Stewart’s wil 1 , and his neph-w, Mr C. J Clinch, equul residuary legati-es. By a will dated 1877, and a codicil prepared on the same day, Mr Hilton was, as trus ee, to apply his half o’ the estate to the <»mpleion of tho magnificent memorial cs-thedral, to the pe-petu-il endowment ot the bishopric of Long Island, and to the endowment of two Bchoo'= for boys and girls. A codicil, dated 1885, declared that these trusts having been executed, the bequest was revikod. exci-pt that Mr Hilton ‘ may, in his d'scrotioo, elect to furnish and endow a seminary of learning for woman ” A codicil, dated 1882, bequeaths to a niece, Sarah Smith, and her chddren, half of the half bequeathed in 1877 to the nephew Cinch the familiar provision that whoever conto ts the will shall forfeit bis share is strengthened by H e stmewhst unusual provision that the legacies shall not be payable until three years after probate has bean taken out.
