A.t present I am in a gold prospecting syndi cate—that is, about twelve of us down here In Natal subscribe £2 or £2 10s a month, and send np one of our number with a power of attorney for each of us, who goes np to the fields to prospect and if he comes across anything good pegs out a claim far •acb of ns, which he either works or els 1 floats a company to work it, I know one man down here who pegged out a good Claim In the fields and sold it for £60,000.’’
