HAMPSTEAD SCHOOL TREAT.

The first annual treat to the children attending the Hampstead District School W s held on the 10th Inst, in M- Lamb’s paddock The children mastered at |Q a m. at the school, aud ware stowed away in waggons, the latter being drawn by Mr Mayo’s traction engine, kindly lent for the occasion. A very large number of parents and friends also took part in the treat. Arrived on the ground, the obll* dren were plentifully regaled with refreshments, after which spots were held for prizes of t e n ual deiorlptio-i. Mr Lamb and his family were extreme y kind to their visitors, and devoted a deal of time iu looking after their comfort Several members of the Committee were on the gronud, aud saperutrended tha sports, &o. After the latter were concluded, the children were treated to another meal. They were than brought together, and, at the call of Mr Mayo, : gave three hearty cheats f <r Mr anl Mrs > Lamb. Similar compliments were also given to Messrs T. and J. Hunt for driving the children to and from the : gr and, and to Mr Mayo for the use of his traction engine.
