THE CAIN CASE.
* Timaru, DicemberlO. The Cain case was resumed this morning. Diskics, chemist's assistant, was called to prove the sale of atropia in November 1885, and Javusry in the year following. Two boys named Telford and Wilson, who had served Hall as grooms, gave evldeno 0 to Hall’s frequent visits to Cain’s house. Both witnesses no animals were suffering from eye affections daring the time they were iu the prisoner’s employ Hy Gardner wtis called to show piisoner’s msre was suffering in November from Itfl’.erza but not eye fiffeotion. J. W. Gardcer repeated the evidence given at the inquest. John Fraser proved the s : gnature on a mortgage not to be his. Ihe Magistrate decided to adjourn at 12 30, before taking Mrs Newton’s evi deuce, till 1.45, when the case will be resumed.
