The Australians bat ed all day, only losing one wicket. The fielding of the Iscal team was very bad. Every ca f ch but one was dropped, and that waa whan the wicket-keeper caught Jones early in innings. An appeal waa disallowed. Best'd-'* Jones hit the ball into his wicket
• me* without knocking off the bails. He gave five or six chances, one particularly e sy, but none were taken, and ho ought to have been stumped twice. Palmer and T’-umbie were also both missel ones The attendance was about 3000 The first wicket nut on 202 runs.
