James Mclntyre, of the Waitema*a Hotel, charged with selling drink on Sunday, was acquitted, but a witness named Leydon, who admitted av‘ne falsely represented himself as a bona Hde traveller, Is being prosecuted. Supreme Court*' New Plymouth, -November 30. The civil sittings of the .Supreme Court re opened to-day, when the case Harbor Board v Slaking Fund Commissioners Is being heard. This Is a case where the Board seek to recover from the Commissioners, money placed by mistake into their hands. _ Firo * Wanganui, November 30. A fire occurred last night in Victoria Avenue by which the shops occupied by Mr Petsr B 11, draper, and Mr George Caiman, grocer, were completely gutted. An examination of the building discloses the fact that the fire originated at the corner of Caiman’s shop where matches were kept. The salvage from both stocks is considerable.
