Mr Gunn at once communicated with the police in the mritor, THE MAGISTERIAL ENQUIRYTimaru November 29 Hall was brought up charged with the murder r f Captai i Grin to day Mr White prosecuted, and Mr Perry defended Mr W ite, having opened tho case shortly, called Arthur Stedram, who reputed the evidence given in tho previous ease as to the financial position if prisoner’s firm. Nothing new w;s o’icited from this witness. H. 8. Black, Manager of Ihe National Bank and G A. Wilson, clerk to Hall and Masson, gave format evidence. Both these witnesses and Stedman identified Hall’s handwriting in the poison book . The evidence of Davidson, Insurance Agent, and Knubley, Solicitor, was an exact repetition of what these witnesses said in ths Supreme C-'Uvt and brought tho case up to tho lunche m adjournment Mr Knubly continued his evidence but m thing new was elecited. FLe G:en repealed in i ffjot what he said at the inquest.
