[REDTBR’s TELEGRAMS—COPYRIGHT ] POSTAL CONFERENCE. Melbourne, Novamuar 19. Secresy is being, observed as to the proceedings of the Conference of delegates from New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria, which commenced its sittings to-day for the discussion of postal arrangements between the three colonies and the United Kingdom.
CHIEF JUSTICESHIP.
Meetings of members of the Bar also of solicitors have been held to-night, when it was resolved to request Mr Salmons to withdraw his resignation of the Chief Justiceship. Mr Salomons’ resignation is now under the consideration of the Government. Sydney, November 19. Mr Julian Salomons, who was recently appointed Chief Justice, has resigned the appointment owing to tbe hostile attitude assumed towards him by his brother Judges. The members of the Bar have expressed themselves in favor of Mr Salomons retaining the Chief Justiceship.
