ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

The supplies of both fat and a tor* sheep and cattle at Addington on Wednes day were exceedingly large. The attendance was fairly good. Udshorn sheep, of which there wis but a dmail proportion, brought from 12a to 14s. J here were but few lots of merinos on offer, and the beat brought as much as 12s each. We quota mutton in the wool at from 2Jd t j per lb, and shorn -%t from to Ifd. The supply of fat lambs was the largest, so far, of the saaeon ; in fact, the market was glutted, and substantial reductions had to be accepted. Values ranged from 3a to Bs*: Oatue.—The supply of beef was very large ; in fact, the market Was oyercrowded. Shipments from, the North Island was again to hand The number on offer iccludad three or four very heavy bullocks of grand quality . These realised from £ls to £lB per head. The latter price was paid by Mr A. E. Tutton, of Victori-. street and Papanai, for the two best of some really splendid cattle. Good quality steers and heifers sold at from £7 10a to £lO each. We quote beef at an average of from 20a to 22s 6d per ICOib. The* store cat le market was heavily supplied, and a fair amount of business was done. A satisfactory demand exist* for heavy young stock, at prices equal to la*e rate?, but for old inferior stocic there is but little demand. No large lines on effer. Pigs.—Only a limited nnmber on offer. The demand was dull, and values showed a downward tendency.
